Bill of materials
Construction Quality Planning Guide, Draft for Consultation, Published by the Construction Innovation Hub in May 2020, defines a Bill of Materials (BOM) as: ‘A hierarchical listing of the physical assemblies, subassemblies, and components needed to fabricate a product as well as the quantity of each material required.’
A preliminary bill of materials is: 'An initial BOM completed, prior to design validation and release of design record, for production use.'
